As an Ambassador for the Elders Landcare Farming Partnership which supports the uptake of environmentally sustainable farming practices.

Elders ambassador Glenn McGrath says staff at the Elders branch at Casterton in south-west Victoria typify the spirit of rural Australians caring about others in need.

 

“Elders Casterton won a car in a promotion and they’re going to auction it and give the proceeds to worthy rural-based charities,” Glenn says. “They’re making sure that rural Australians in need benefit from their good luck.”

 

Elders Casterton won a Volkswagen Beetle worth more than $25,000 in a national supplier promotion offered by Bayer Animal Health in October last year.

 

“The branch plans to auction the car at the Pedigree Working Dog Auction, an annual event in Casterton with which Elders has a long association,” Glenn says.

 

“A condition of winning the car was that it had to be used for joint promotional purposes for a time, but Bayer has been generous in waiving some of that time so that Elders Casterton can sell the car at the auction.

 

“I’m thankful the McGrath Foundation will be one of the recipients of the proceeds from the auction. Elders’ support for the foundation has been tremendous, with the company and its branches raising almost $150,000.

 

“Proceeds will also go to Ronald McDonald House and the Casterton Memorial Hospital. This is a great initiative for which the staff at Elders Casterton should be congratulated.”
